Hey all,

So my wifes 2008 Hyundai Sonata seems to have some brake problems. She told me that one of the rears is grinding, so I went out to check it out tonight and it seems as though something has gotten between the pad and the rotor and is grinding down the rotor. the middle half of the rotor is the normal smoothness, and the top half all the way around is very rough and ground down.

Was wondering if anybody has any idea as to what it might be?? Obviously i'm gonna give jimmy a call, but i'm not going to be able to take the car in till early next week. Now she says she has been driving like that for a couple weeks now.

What are your thoughts??

i have heard if rocks getting wedged in between rotor and pad, and thus wearing down the break pad.

Sounds to me like your brakes are shot and your pads are metal on metal.. I would highly recomend you get them checked out sooner then next week.

Because your wife and my gf think the same way......car moves forward and still stops its driveable = costing more to repair or doing damage that = more to repair. If something does not sound right take it in to inspect. Waiting = more money.

Just glad it her wallet and not mine!

Haha.. So I was able to switch my schedule and will be changing the pads and rotors tomorrow morning. I'm pretty sure it was the pads being worn.
