View Full Version : Avoid Weathertech.......

I bought my mats directly from them (W101) and just assumed that I would be looked after if I had any issues. Well I did have an issue and I was basically told F.U. by the manager!
I have a 2006 M3 5 speed. So sometimes when my foot comes off the clutch it catches on the corner of the mat - very dangerous. So I called Weathertech directly to voice my concern and asked to return the mats. Because I had used them 1 time they will not take them back. WTF kind of customer service is that?? I asked how I was supposed to know that this would happen without me trying them. All the manager said was "Mazda Canada has approved the mats". Big deal I said they are dangerous!
So buyer beware these mats aren't that great, especially for the $ you dish out. I would highly recommend that anyone with a manual shift stay far away from these mats and the company. Very poor product and even worse customer service.
That's just my personal experience. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Which mats are you talking about? I have the digital fit ones on my 2009 gt 5 speed for over a year now and I have no problems with my foot catching on anything.
This doesn't make much sense.

There are weathertech mats and there are weathertech digital fit liners. I guess you are talking abour the mats. The liners are so much better.

I freakin love my weathertech digital liners. My 2009 GT even thanks me for buying them.
Your best bet is to just sell them on here for a loss. At least you'll get some of your money back and someone else can pick them up for a reduced price and enjoy their awesomeness

I use to have the same mats. Never any issues at all.
Assuming you took off the carpet mats underneath they should not interfere with any of the pedals.

The part # on their site is W101. They are the Weathertech mats, not the digital liners.

I may be the only person in the Mazda community that FN' hates these mats. And yes I did remove my carpets b4 I put them on.

almost everyone gets the floorliners, even Mazda sells them now (not the weathertech floor mats)

What's so special about the floor liners compared to the Mazda all-weather mats?

They are "digital molds" of the car's floor. So basically they sit in snug, basically custom made to the car and unlike any other generic weather mat, they cover all the important areas on the floor where you could potentially get salt on.
I got them on my Mazda3 and in my Yukon XL, what I love about them in the Yukon XL is that they run a channel to the end so when you open up the door you can sweep with your foot any snow or dirt outside. Unfortunately our floors sink in so this isnt possible. But regardless these mats are by far the best out there.
I predicted a few years ago that these guys will eventually become standard across all car manufactures and two years ago I saw GM carrying them and now Mazda has it under a part number.
These are the way to go!

I meant to ask, what is the difference between the WeatherTech floor mats and the Mazda OEM rubber mats? I know the floor liners are a complete insert that covers the whole footwell area pretty much.

I just sent an email the the owner of WeatherTech Dan Macneil. Lets see what he says, if anything. I'll keep you guys posted. In the meantime avoid WeatherTech floor mats (W101) like the plague. They"re garbage!!!

i don't get why you'd tell everyone to avoid the W101 "like the plague" and that "they're garbage" when, at the same time, you're trying to sell them on TM3.

Because everyone out there seems to love them. I hate them. So there has to be some lover out there that wants them. That's why!

Also, what really confuses me is your looking for the new weathertech digital floor mats, yet in the for sale section you state that your selling the car and that's the reason your selling the mats.
I don't think its wise to state incorrect information when selling a product. People will frown upon stuff like that.

My dear friend, you are so confused :loco. I will never buy the W101 mats again, nor will I ever recommend them. The digital mats are totally different, do your research and read my original post!
The mats I asked the other member about were MAZDA3 OEM digital liners, totally different than the ones I had. The ones he pictured were sold by Mazda not Weathertech. The ones in the picture are digital liners, not floor mats. Anyway a lot of people who are uneducated about the difference are ignorant to this thread.
Lets put this to sleep and move on. I'll finish it off by saying the W101 Weathertech floor mats suck crap. I am so glad I found some sucker who believes the hype to buy them. Merry Christmas everyone and stay far away from Weathertech W101 mats.
Oh and by the way I never stated any incorrect info!
Mods lock it up!

Wow what a childish way to put it.....and i hope your happy you pawned your shit off on someone else (some sucker as you think her or she is) Did you tell them about your bad experience with the mats and how they are dangerous? probably not. You just wanted to get rid of them. Good job, hope you find some good mats that work well for you so we dont have to see you posting all over the site how shitty they are....for example in someones intro thread... so lame!

Hey just for your clarification you need to get your facts straight. The Mazda OEM digital fits are really weathertech digital fits. They are manufacturing it to Mazda with a different logo. So instead of it saying weather tech it says Mazda 3 and it has a Mazda part number.
When and if you buy the Mazda digital fits look at the back. They will be stamped with weather tech
Also what I was referring to is why are you telling members your selling them because your getting rid of the car when in actuality your doing it just to get the digital fits.

There's currently a GB going on for the exact same mats for $60 (cash). Only reason I'm selling mine for $50 is because I'm getting rid of my car.
What's going on guys? No body wants to buy these amazing mats form me? Hard to believe. These things are supposed to be amazing according to everyone on this forum. Buy yourself or someone you love an early Christmas gift
and then
SOLD, thank God! Mods lock it up. Finally someone bought these lousy mats. Good luck!
You realize when ever selling ANYTHING on the forum in the future, no one will take anything you say at face value. If you say something is used a week, has less then ____ km's on it, etc...it is pretty much gonna be thought to be inaccurate.
It is one thing to purchase something and dissatisfied/change of mind and resell. Half the people selling things in the BST section are doing it because of that but to lie about the reason, and then insulting the person who purchased it! That is just plain childish, rude, and pretty much stupid.
Good luck selling anything in the future. :loco
