I'm looking for some insight on lower springs. I have a 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan, I want to do a bunch of shit to it in this order, lowering springs, body kit, rims and low pro tires.

Can I buy lowering springs designated for my Mazda and have someone put them on without having to buy any additional parts?

I'm new to cars in general lol

answer:

1. yes theres a million threads on this...Htechs, Stechs, prokits, road magnets, apex springs, canuck motorsports and coilovers.

2. theres many mechanics that can install them such as street performance and M&D executive auto....

Its recommend you get aftermarket shocks such as koni yellow's. Your stock shocks will only last for so long with aftermarket springs.

you can use lowering springs on stock struts but you'll probably have to get a camber kit aswell.
BTW there are many threads on this already, MANY threads. try the search feature.

you don't have to..but it is recommended as the stock shocks/struts won't last as long with lowering springs installed. But sometimes you can get lucky.

To clarify for the op; you don't need a camber kit if you lower your car on stock shocks/struts. The two are unrelated.

Since you've got a 2006, I'll assume it probably has over 50,000km (at least) on it. At that point I'd highly recommend putting aftermarket shocks on at the same time as springs. You don't have to, but the OEM shocks already have a fair amount of wear on them and I'd bet that within 8-12 months on lowering springs you'd start to feel more "bouncy-ness". For reference I put K-sport springs on my '07 withing the first 10,000km and by about 60,000km I decided to step up to aftermarket shocks.

Tons of good info in this thread... Lowering now does not = regret. Search the forum and you will find loads of people who run lowered all year round. I ran prokits for 2 winters. My bro has a dc5 that is dumped and he rolls all year long. You need to know the limits of a lowered car, winter or summer.

^^ True. All my cars have been lowered since 1999, driven throughout the winter.

how much of a drop do you want? if you're looking at something like prokits(1.2") they are just within the range of stock dampers and with that you won't need a camber kit. i'm on sportlines(1.8" but seems like 2"). when i put them on, the camber in front was way off and the rears were just a tad off. with this drop i was able to get an alignment with the stock suspension components. the aftermarket camber kits are for the rear. just my opinion/2 cents. if you have the extra mula, grab the camber kit and do it the right way.

No didn't raise its not that much lower than my sportlines which I used previous winters.

Oh? The ride on my BC's seems fine, the only problem I have had (recently in the cold) is coil bind at low speed.

Normal BC's = not that low but just ask for the 'Extreme Drop Kit' when ordering and BC's can get you low.
