I need to get to the airport on Saturday by taxi. Anyone know a good taxi company and the rate to Pearson from the Richmond Hill area?

you can take the GO airport bus from Silvercity Richmond Hill - ~$5.50 and faster than a taxi because it takes the 407.

+1, it's really quick. Much cheaper than a Taxi

Take the GO bus, its comfy and quick. Otherwise, check if a member is willing to do the drive for you for a nominal cost compared to a cab, which would probably be around $80 to $100.

My parents always take a cab there. $50 gets you there in about 30 mins

Thanks a lot everyone. I called Avenue taxi co. Costs $50 and $56 using 407. Off to JDM country for a couple of weeks. Have too much stuff for the GO so decided on taxi.

FYI the taxi ride back is more expensive. It was $69. Could a taxi home from the airport been cheaper, to RH, if so how?

I doubt it. They always use the limo taxis from the airport. You don't really have much of a choice and have to pay what their rate is.

There is supposed to be a fixed rate that all the Limos/Cab companies use based on distance. They have a chart they consult.

Yep, but it's always the same. Non-negotiable.

I travel for work a lot and live at Yonge and Richmond Hill. The cab ride is about $65 (flat fee) to the airport. That includes the 407 transponder charge and a $5 tip. Coming back you have the choice of cab or limo. Limo is about a $10 premium and both have fixed rates for various areas in terms of overall costs. You'd be looking at $75-80. Thank god I can expense it. If your going out of your own pocket, I am sure asking a friend and taking them out for breakfast/lunch or dinner would be cheaper and more convenient as payback.

when you get out of the airport, there is a Taxi line AND a Limo line. They look the same because most of the taxis and limos are the Lincoln Town Car but they have different rates. When you get out of the airport, look up at the stand to see which one you are taking.

For example:

* a TAXI from the airport to Yonge/7 is $57.00 (not including 407 toll)
* a LIMO from the airport to Yonge/7 is $63.00 (not including 407 toll)

The rates can be found on the GTAA website (http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/airport_information/ground_transportatio/taxis__limousines/).

Not sure. But it seems that it costs less to get to the airport than leaving. Call up a taxi co. and they will give you a quote then try another to compare.
