So I'm kinda pissed about the fact that my brand new 2010 MS3 has maps from 2008.

It's to the point that they are so inaccurate they are basically useless. On my trip down to North Carolina I had to give up and use my phone GPS, because Mazda navigation would have added 300km to my trip.

On top of that the dealership won't update them. They say that this is the version that came with the vehicle and if I want newer maps I have to buy them for $400.

Have you guys run into this? Should I call Mazda Canada? Or make a bigger stink at the dealership? I tend to be pretty forgiving about things and generally avoid making a fuss, but it is a brand new car that I paid a crap-ton for, and I'd like it to work as advertised.

This doesn't relate to just your MS3. It is all models.

I would call Mazda canada and if that doesn't work the I would contact the Toronto sun..

Also I think it's time to find a new dealer...

This is answered on MS3 forums and basically the 2008 map disk is prior year maps 2007! Cars made after Feb 2010 came with 2010 nav disk which is prior year 2009 maps. No navigation will have current year impossible always a year behind. Why my 2010 speed bought in Oct 2009 did not come with a 2009 disk but with 2008 maps is a question only MCI can answer! I bitched like hell and I got a 2010 disk and even offered to pay 50% as I should not of had to upgrade if I had what was supposed to come with car a 2009 disk! I got it for free in the end! I will not buy another disk buy buy a tom tom or garmin with free lifetime maps and traffic updates for half the price of a new disk!!!
