its the exact same engine, they just changed where the dipstick is. 2.0 2.3 and 2.5 are the only engines for the 3 unless you go to europe they have the 1.6 diesel

no it's not
they changed the head, pistons, spark plugs
stop thinking with your dipstick and understand what the real differences are

the original answer was no and that still stands

if you really want to know more, there was a post not long ago that had more detailed info about this... I should've been a jerk and just told you to search to begin with instead of going back to tell you it won't work again

first off if you read my post its not wrong its just not what he is asking. i just misunderstood, i thought he meant that there was another size between 2.0 and 2.3. you should get off the TV and stop quoting terrible commercials.

then you need to word your original reply better
saying "same exact engine, they just changed where the dipstick is" implies older 2.0 = newer 2.0 and older 2.3 = newer 2.3 (thus nothing different except dipstick location) when in fact that is NOT true at all many things were changed and what I mentioned were only the highlights of it... I'm pretty sure the OP knew already there weren't any new engines added in 2006, just still 2.0 and 2.3

im sure he did, again just misunderstood what he was asking. i also just clued in to the fact your quote was directed to my mentioning of the movement of the dipstick, still i just hate that commercial. my bad.
