So I had this thing where I wanted to start saving $1 & $2 coins for a year. I started it on Jan 1 2010 till Jan 1 2011 (1 year) to save it and see what I end up with for a trip down south

Even if I had a $2 coin and wanted coffee, I would spend a $20 bill :bang

but guess it paid off having $1225 in toonies and loonies

"Hey man, got any spare change?"

Great job Rick, that takes a lot of self control to keep something like that up for a year straight.

Great job Rick. I did the same thing with all my change in 2010. Whenever I got home from a nite out or a day at work, I dumped all my loose change into a large coffee container. By the end of December I had $723 in coins. That'll get me alot of coin washes for sure!

Cuba if you want to party with friends, Bahamas if you want a quiet tropical getaway. Mexico if you want to get shot/mugged/stabbed/molested/kidnapped.

i've done the same thing.
First time paid for a shopping spree at a Prime Outlet in Grove City, PA.
Second one helped with the down payment for my house

I found Cuba nice, but I went in August....I have seen on the news that Cuba has had one of its coldest winters as well, so that may be a factor.

Did you also put the extra change in from breaking the $20 for coffee? :P

C'mon Vlad... there's some nice resorts in Cayo Coco that are not tailored to just famillies. But I hear where you're coming from.

Awesome job man, enjoy the trip.

I used to do something very similar. When I used to work as a bouncer I would always put the tip money into a small bag. Ended up being about 500 bucks extra every summer.
