Yesterday when I was driving in the light snow, my front wiper began having trouble wiping. The wipe would start very slowly and then continue normally. This worked for a short while. Then the wipers stopped working completely and they have not worked since.
Thinking the motors might be frozen, I poured some hot water around the wipers to get rid of all the snow and ice that might have accumulated in there. They still don't work.
My question is: This is a 2008.5 3 Sport GX with 72000km on it (ie: still under warranty). This should be covered, no?

It would really depend on the vehicles "in service date" It really is hard to belive that 2008 is 3 years ago now

did you check for any rust on the wiper arms? I had my wipers arms replaced under warranty for rust.

Took it in to Mountain Mazda, and they confirmed it is the wiper motor. They've ordered one and it should be in tomorrow. There is no rust on the wiper arms.
On another note, I just noticed a small dent in the room, near the arial. Inside the dent are two small nicks in the paint. I can see a tiny bit of rust in one of them. Not cool. Should I get some black mica paint to cover these up? What is the normal thing to do when you find the beginnings of a rust spot?
