So apparently only the 04-05's have a barometer (unless I'm misinformed which is entirely possible). But do we need it? If I take it out or unplug it, will it cause problems or damage anything?

I'm pretty sure the barometer is used to properly meter the A/F ratio. I don't think the car will run very well without it.

speaking of meters...are the speedo and tach mechanical or digital?

You are saying barometer, but I believe you are thinking of the thermostat. I had just replaced one a few weeks before my accident. I have heard of many 04-05 members having to do the same. Was not an expensive repair though.

I think he is talking about the sensor on the right, which is a barometer
