As most of you know by now, last year was my final year at hosting the annual Bubba-Q. Its now almost February, and i thought i would just get the pot stirring to see if anybody would be willing to take it over for this year.

One suggestion comes to mind... Keep the strong relationship with TOP and have a merged bbq... They seem to have successful events and im sure they wont mind if a merge will be in the works.

Pending on the weekend of the event (as I have a few weekends where I have commitments already) I have no problem in arranging and making the (pre made) food for the event. BBQing is not my forte but as most of you know I can whip out some awesome desserts and have a couple very good salad recipes as well.

I don't think I have the time to organize such an event, but definitely willing to help out where I can.

I'm currently a very busy boy, but I don't think I'd know exactly everything that would need to get set up to run this even if I did.
In all fairness, this is the first time I've seen this thread.

I have my hands full coordinating three other events for this season. As well as running the business side of TM3, and a day job.

What about getting a committee together to organize this? Not just one person responsible, but a bunch working together? Might take the burden off of any one person.

Best of luck to the committee. I'd suggest not having too many cooks in the kitchen and cap it at a number that you are comfortable with.

Everyone knows I'm not afraid to travel east.

Well that's why I only put 5 spots. I figured that would be more than enough.

So if you can commit we will be in business I think

It's actually better to have it out of the city. Easier access for everyone even though it's just down Bayview. I'm not even sure but do they allow/have BBQs there?

Yea they do, I actually go there to bbq with family and/or friends a few times year. But yeah, it's pretty crowded during weekends, we have to go early to get spots. So maybe somewhere far would be a better idea.

There are also parks around Woodbine and Bloomington, or Bayview and Stouffville not too north from Toronto. I been there a few times with family as well, its like a small park but usually not much people go there we can take over the whole park. I am not exactly sure where it is. I will look into it

Not a very big park, not sure if parking would be enough tho.

Confederation Park is quite nice. They have covered pavillions and being very local to it I would have no problem accessing the venue.

The only downside is you have to pay a "parking entrance" to the park.

I was sort of thinking about keeping it in tradition and having it at the same place Adam hosted it. Lots of parking, lots of space

Only problem with that is someone has to be at the park at 7am when it opens to get that spot. There's no reserving it apparently

Yeah parking fee = a no go in my books

The only problem with that is that we would need someone to go early and hold the site. Also I'm sure people are still willing to drive out that far but most probably prefer to stay closer to home. I'm ok with either really.

I'm sure one of us from the kw area can drive to the park early to save the spot. What adam used to do is book another location in the same park which was reservable but show up early and block off the spot we used which is a non-reservable spot.
