Dumb question - had the dealer install 3M trim line on my new Mazda, is this basically the same as getting clearshield done by Audio Heaven or do I need both?

If I am not mistaken, the trim line is the same as the hood protector. My dad got it installed on his 2010 Accord and my moms 2010 CR-V.

If it looks anything like this,

Then [I believe] that you don't need anything else.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but most dealers have a 5-year warranty on these, and if a rock happens to chip right through the film (with or without hurting the paint under it), you can have it touched up and the dealer will resend the car to where the 3M film was done and you will get a new one on the damaged area.

I must say, the 3M film hood protector is a great product. We managed to put on the bumpers as well. Works very well!

I have it on my 3 and my main car and it's really good stuff. 3M is the best of these products.
