Oh man, the other day I was just saying to my buddy. "Why doesn't Audi make a faster version of the A3?". I'm not sure if this makes me happy or sad because I doubt I'll be able to afford one any time soon.
I like the look more than the BMW 1 series, but I'm not a fan of BMW's styling.

Audi has always had the S3, just not available in north america.
last I heard RS3 wasn't coming here either. Unless that has changed.
this car is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more pimp than a 1 series!!!

The Audi design is much more functional IMO... Not that it matters, I don't think I could afford the door handle, much less the rest of the car :chuckle

They are german. To them it's like "DSG is faster". And it's true no one can shift as fast as the DSG. So I for one don't see it as an issue.

it's not about being able to shift faster or slower when compared to the DSG. it's about the fun factor. the manual shift lever, to many people, is a more fun way to drive their car than flicking their finger at a flappy paddle.
people often ask me "why didn't you get quattro with your A3?"
unfortunately audi does not sell quattro with a stick shift gearbox... so the need for a manual gear box outweighed my want for quattro........

x2, seemed like a good idea up to that point. The Golf GTI R will come with a stick though

+1.
Besides, they can call the flappy paddle thingies DSG, or whatever other name they want, but if it isn't a true manual gear box, one is still less of a man and with a smaller penis for driving it. :)

my argument is fun factor. not so much the associated penis size of various gear boxes!

LOL. Well it's call a stick I guess for a reason... for those that likes playing with a phallic object?
Just saying that technically there's no real issue if numbers are what you are looking at. Considering the massive changes that are likely to happen with the car industry due to fuel price, global warming etc. I think it's likely that manuals goes thew way of the dodo in most of our life times.

It had Ontario plates as it was out in Quebec for a drive event they had.
Spoke to my friend at Audi Canada... it WON'T be coming to Canada anytime soon if ever.
Too bad... it is a sweet car.

Lol well I guess you're saying that means F1 race cars, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, etc. with paddle shifter are all driven by poorly endowed, wimpy men?
