View Full Version : I dont get it....
How come sometimes when you honk someone cause they are about to do something stupid, like coming into your lane when you're right beside them, instead of being rateful that I did them a fov or in terms of insurance, they give you the finger and crap as if you're the bad guy?
end rant :)

Because some drivers are just too stupid to understand their own mistakes/faults while driving. I've had the same thing happen to me before - I just gave the finger back. I guess some hella horns are in your future?

Yup, notice the same thing. I think it's because some people don't like to be corrected even if they're doing something wrong.

Psychology, anyone? :)
It basically comes down to how people's brains are wired.... as soon as a person is challenged the higher cognitive functions shut down and they go into "fight/flight mode" which only knows about smacking things around and running away....
This is same reason that people will stubbornly stick to a completely irrational point of view no matter how many logical arguments you throw at them.... and why having people think they came tow up with an idea always results in better buy-in than imposing it on them.
Which is why it's best to not get drawn into a shoving match while driving.... because as soon as you do you are probably going to do something stupid..

+1 AND people are a lot braver when they are locked inside their car.
Nobody ever thinks their own actions are wrong. It's always the other guys fault. (That's my story anyway)

Lately I've been finding that I appear to be merging on to the highways too fast...mostly because of the fact that it has become the norm for people to merge on to the highway infront of me doing between 50 and 60kmh. I don't get it, if the people in the right lane of the highway are travelling at 95-100...why on earth do people feel it's safe to merge at 60? Get up to speed people!

I blame all the recent stupidity on people like Dr Oz, Dr. Phil, Maury Povich, and everybody over at CityTV for putting a scare on everyone.
In 60 minutes you really just want to live in a bubble

Or when people see you coming, but they still make that right turn but doesn't accelerate, knowing someone is about to ram up their a**.

I just spent 4 hours driving from Scarborough, to Bradford, to Camebridge and back to Scarborough, and I tell you, the worst drivers are
-the honkytonks in their Ford Expedition or Yukon that think because they drive a bigger vehicle, they don't have to get out of the passing lane.
- The Soccor moms driving the family Caravan, that think they earn the right to cut you off because they have a kid in the back seat
- Young Dallas, Brooke, Haley, or Tyler driving their dads Mustang thinking they're the sh*t because they got their G2 now.
- Every Hyundai accent, and 92-95 Accord driver out there.

This VW Jetta dude drove on 16th Ave. today with his trunk fully open from McCowan to Warden before somebody was able to tell him at the red light that his trunk was ajar. Flashing him obviously didn't work and apparently, honking didn't work either. I'm glad his trunk was empty.. or at least by the time I saw his trunk. lol. :)
Btw, I also really dislike those drivers that make a right turn thinking that they can accelerate in time to merge with on coming traffic.. but that's hardly ever the case.

I was always told that there are three things that make for a "perfect storm" on te roads,
Old Man
Buick
Hat.
That combination nearly guarantees an accident.

Hella loud.

The Hellas are too high pitched for me. Like the tiny road runner meep meep, just a bit louder. I want to get an air horn or two some day. Maybe wire up a half dozen air horns to my car all hidden in the front bumper to honk at the same time when I hit the centre of the steering wheel.

I could see you rocking a train horn lol

I want to, but wiring up and finding a place to strap in an air compressor is too much hassle for me. Not to mention digging up a used train horn in the first place or finding it a place to be mounted in a cramped MS3 engine bay.
