Help! Bold 9780 or iPhone4 ??

So i get my upgrade today and im stuck between chosing a blackberry bold 9780 or an iPhone 4... I have a 9700 right now and i love it but I im diggin the iphone too.. anythoughts?? lemme know. much love(no homo)

quick answer, it depends!

I was an avid BB user, but I recently switch to iPhone4 and I have no regrets. The reason for my switch was two fold, my BB Tour got dropped in the toilet by my son, and one of my clients (huge 300,000 plus sized company) doesn't support BB, but I can pick up my exchange account on an iPhone4.

As far as the rest of the stuff the phone does, I do prefer the touch screen for ease of use, and you haven't mentioned a touch screen BB, so I'd go iPhone in this case.

I use BBM and love it but one of my buddies jailbroke his iphone and he has bbm on it..its kinda slow but hes working on the bugs. but i know a few people who have jumped off the bb bandwagon i was just wondering was it hard?

it's always better to get the iphone and sell it so that you can get whatever phoen you want.

Additionally..............
the 2 main upgrades on the 9780 are:
- 5MP camera
- 512 MB of RAM.

However, since cameras will always suck on a blackberry. don't let this be a deciding factor.
The RAM memory.......... well, I run OS6 on my 9700 just fine. for me, i find no difference in capability between the 9700 and 9780. I have extensively used both.

therefore, if you choose 9780. and don't care about the above... just update your OS5->OS6 on your 9700
get iphone.

You can get the iphone for like $200 after taxes and actiavtion feee. sell it for like $600. BB 9780 is like $400-$425 private sale - so I don't see much profit there... did I miss something?

I don't think there is any wait for an iphone now........
you order the phone through regular hardware upgrade. it comes to your door. and you put it up on craiglist, kjiji, whatever.
If you are good/lucky. you may get the activation fee waived. that's $35 in savings right there.

I sold my Iphone for $650. Now, I realize that it may not be that much to buy anymore. but at the time, that's what i got. which net me a profit of $450.
It's about research. research the cost of the phone you want and what you can sell the iphone for. If there are no benefits.. then just get the one you want from the provider. you also have the option of getting used phones at a much lower cost. when the 9700 was still $500 BNIB, i opted to buy a 1 week old one for $400. to this day i have had no problems with it.

the major advantage of selling the iphone for a phone you want (if not for profit) is that you now have the opportunity to buy any GSM phone and are not restircted to Roger's offerings.

don't forget that if you are upgrading your phone. you have the option of selling your old one too. a used 9700 is still work at least $200 bucks or so...........

Personally I think you just need to ask yourself what you want to use the phone for. Hands down for multimedia/Apps purposes go for iPhone. If you just want to use it to check emails, casual surfing/youtube, and of course BBM then get a BB! Just my two cents.

best way to know if you will like iphone.. try it yourself. here is what i propose:

get the iphone. use it.
if you don't like it. sell it.
and buy 9780
sell 9700

if you like it, keep it.
sell 9700

there is very little risk in terms of $ involved with the above. you could be up or down a few dollars. but o well!

As said, buy the iphone 4, sell it, get 9780. IF you want an iphone...it is literally useless to take that sort of resale hit (new one coming in June - they have a yearly cycle).

Also, if you're running 9780 you should be running .448 best leak to date (thank me later).

My buddy i work with at Staples. he jailbroke his iphone and he found a way to copy the bbm software on his iphone. its still pretty slow right now but hes working on the bugs.

UPDATE

I just got the iPhone4 on my break inbetween classes, imma use it for a few days and see how it is and if anything i might just go back and swap for the 9780.

Due to the fact that I worked in Wireless Sales, I've used all platforms (Symbian, Android, iOS and BlackBerry OS). Right now, I can say with confidence the BlackBerry platform starting to fall behind in terms of functionality compared to its competitors.

I personally settled with an iPhone 4, and I don't think I'll be switching platforms anytime soon.

so another update..

I stated i got the iphone4.. i went to class right after and i played around with it after an hour and half i drove back and exchanged it for the 9780.. LOL hate if you must but i got a diffferent feeling when i got my bb first time and even when i updated it i got this excited feeling.. never felt that with the iphone. its a great phone but just not for me:) back with my bb, back in my comfort zone. BBM♥
