Seen that label on some 2012 Mazda 5's.
You would be surprised a lot of people still stack their rubber mats on top of the carpet ones.

Yes, and there are still a few idiots that don't read it.
Sadly this is the remedy... another label to not read..

Glad I got the one without the warning label... +1->looks ugly with it
Makes sense to have the warning tag on the OEM all-weather mats though

Agreed that label looks very ugly. If I got my car with that my first mod would be to swap out the mat!

Great, yet another thing completely ruined by a combination of stupid people and lawyers. :(

Just out of curiosity, how much is a new mat from Mazda if i want to replace it ? I used to have these rubber mats in my old Chevrolet and they smelled really bad.

How do you keep carpet mats from getting all dirty and skunky anyway? Even if it's not raining and it's bone dry outside in the summer, you still track dirt and other stuff onto them. I just keep my weathertechs on all year round.

I have too. It's all stemming from the Toyota issues with floor mats. It is fine to do if you use properly fitted mats. The generic ones can be made to fit great over top of your OEM carpet mats with some cutting, and slits in key areas. My work truck has been like this since I got it. I did the same with my last car.

When it comes to keeping your summer matts clean. First of all you should have 'Scotch Gaurded 'them, the minute you drove away from the Deralership. 'Scotch Gaurd' keeps all the grime from sticking or penetrating the fabric. You should also do all the floor fabric areas around.
So, after you vacum and shampoo the matts. when dry , soak them with Scotch Gaurd.
You can buy that from any Canadian Tire, WallMart etc.
