View Full Version : Upgrading FW on Android = Punch a hole in the wall

I've been sitting here since 9PM trying to get this !@#$ Bell Vibrant SGS to come back to life. I plugged it in, Kies found a new FW, I let it do it's thing, it rebooted, and now i'm left with a paperweight.
I have access to the 3-button recovery mode *sometimes*, but at least I can put it into download mode consistently... Just that it won't do much beyond accepting the hoard or files i've been trying to load via Odin. I'll be the first to admit that i'm pretty lost when it comes to this... Anyone have any ideas or wants to have a go at this?
The kicker is that i'm not a Bell customer, so I can't even go to them. Hooray...

Not using Bell or their products FTW.
That being said, PMall man, lol.

Not very helpful - I've been scouring google and the xda forums for hours.

You can't reset to factory status?

Went into recovery mode and did the factory reset, doesn't seem to fix it

:(
Go to P-mall, find the store K&T something or other, it's on the long side with all the windows, 'bout half-way down I think. Ask for Jose, he'll get you fixed up.

Thanks for the help :) I called up Samsung, and they're apparently taking care of it. Seems like a big batch of them have bad internal SD? Oh well, using my ancient Curve 8310 for now :chuckle

As long as you can get to recovery/download mode you can still revive the phone. What FW are you on rigt now? Recovery version 2e or 3e?
Did you get an error message " cant mount internal SD" ?
Well you can disregard those questions. Samsung's gona replace the phone already ;)
