Hi,
I have a USB cigarette adapter that does not seem to charge my Apple iPod.
I tried out the adapter with my Blackberry and it charges without a problem. I have been scanning the internet but don't have a precise answer on the problem.
Has this happened to anyone? I have a 2007 GS.
Thanks

What type of IPod do you have? Some of them have had problems with older generation iPods not working with anything except the original iPod charger itself. My gf went to get a new iPod because her older one did the same thing with her aux jack and cigarette lighter. It just didn’t want to work but her ipone worked without issue.

Hi,
Sorry for the long awaited reply and thanks for responding. It is an ipod classic. I also noted that the cigarette lighter did not want to charge my cell phone. My iphone plays fine through the audio input, but I can't charge it.

I could check that. I suppose I should stick the lighter in to see if it makes the coils hot or not.

There's some incompatibility issue (USB pin) on your USB cigarette adapter between your iPhone cable. It happened to me when I was using my Belkin AC/USB cigarette adapter. USB port don't charge my iPhone but if I plug through the AC it works. So I bought a mini USB cigarette adapter from deal extreme for 3$ to replace my belkin and it work flawlessly:thumbsup

iphone 4 requires 5v between pin 4 and 1 in usb as well as the data pins 2,3 need to have 2.2v i think, or 3.2v. cheap usb chargers only put out 5v between pin 4 and 1...
