So last week I was on my way to my soccer game. I was in the left lane when in the right lane some young girl in a civic hit the car in front of her and the lady behind her thought she would be a hero and swung into my lane and ran her car into my poor Betty and to top it off some guy in a van comes flying into my rear end (no homo) ..all in all a rough night (no homo ..again) lol but yeah the lady who hit me took off and what not but the guy stayed and i got his info and we made a deal for him to pay for the damages to Betty. He left me with a a deposit and said he would pay me the rest march 1st and he even wrote me a note and signed it. I called him over the weekend and we set a time and place to meet so he could give me and rest of the money and wellllll HE DIDNT SHOW! nd wont answer the phone or anything..i even went to the *******s house and he didnt answer!

Im thinking give him till the end of the day and than as a last report call the cops?

whachuu guys think? AHHHH!:bang

Ah damn, Tyler told me about this last week. Sucks man. Isn't it too late to get the police involved since the accident happened last week? However, you did get in writing....

Wow, that's brutal man. Sorry to hear about your accident. I suggest to keep it cool first. It seems you have all his information as well as a written note that proves he will pay your damages. Try to wait and keep calling until the end of the day. Worst case is to call the cops, but you can file that the next day.

How much is the cost of repairing it? Any pictures?

Gian: He had 24 hours to report the accident to police.

Why did you not report this to police immediately after it happened? Especially since one person already fled the scene? Did anyone else there get this lady's license plate and vehicle description?

I always say file with the police and insurance. If you don't and the guy takes off on you, what will you do? And, what if you have sustained some type of soft tissue damage? Given that you have already waited this long, I'm assuming you will have some explaining to do if you go to the popo and your insurance.

Next tip, always, always get a plate number; first thing. Look at the car that hit you and get the plate. This kind of crap happens all the time.

"It was between McLovin and Mohammed."
"Why would it be between McLovin and Mohammed? Pick a common name."
"Mohammed is the most common name in the world. Read a book..."

Yep. After my experience of being rear ended and trying to be nice I now am of the opinion that one should just driver safer and go through insurance whenever. There's no benefit to you if you are not at fault. In my case I got the guy's business card and I took a photo of his plate right away. Would he have screwed me over if I didn't? Maybe.

Sorry for what happened especially with the lady who hit you and ran. Next time in these situations it's best to go the formal route.

You should call your insurance agent and see what can be done. Might still be covered under hit and run and in that case should be no fault to you.

Im surprised that the guy agreed to pay for the sideswipe damage from the lady runner.
He'd have a pretty solid case not to but I suppose he wanted to keep it on the down low and not get insurance involved.

I was thinking the exact thing.

OP, you're very fortunate this guy stepped up to the plate and as for the women that hit you what a complete bitch she'll get her reward sooner or later (we all pay in the end - referring to the women). You literally need to have a digi-cam or cellphone (with decent resolution) with you at all times to take pics. It's insane the amount of hit and runs taking place these days...it just blows my mind!! (no homo as Johal said lol)
