Cheapest way of paying/sending payment to the states

Hi folks,

Is there anyone knowledgeable of all the possible payment options to a recipient in the states, and can suggest the cheapest (while still safe/secure) method?

Payment of just under $3000.

Paypal? EMT? Direct-wire? (Only used PP and EMT in the past)

EMT is not safe at all (from scams), you have to make sure you can trust the person - once its gone you can't get the money back.

plus I know one time I tried to EMT a lot of money and i was told by the bank that there was a limit to how much i could transfer, might depend on the account though

It is likely going through via a bank transfer. I'll see how much that'll cost come Saturday.

Use a sling shot or catapult to launch change to them on other side...

I use EMT's whenever i transfer money over the net. Depending on your bank and account, you can call it off part way thru if something goes wrong. And I believe you can even have the transaction reversed if service or item is not received.
