Hey, so a few days ago the HID bulb went out on my ms3. I assumed it was the bulb so i replaced it. Still didnt work so I am lead to believe that its the ballast that is the problem. Now instead of going to mazda and buying a 300 ballast that will "hopefully" solve my problem. Would it work if I were to buy a complete HID kit used from someone here? The questions the arise with me is, will the light look the same using two different types of ballasts? Would they just plug in and work or do I need to start doing some wiring here? And do you think it is the ballast that blew or wiring problems?
Thanks!

what do you think about buying a used one on ebay for 85 bucks?

You can buy a full brand new kit for $85 from imports tuning (you can find them in the sponsor section)

why don't you swap the ballast from the working side to check first? and it's only $80 a kit from the sponsor here, with 18 months warranty, better than what mazda would offer

you think the quality would better than OEM parts? Also, if I swap out the broken ballast for one in those in the kits, do you think it'll look the same or would I have to swap out both ballasts?

Swap the bad one for the good one and see if it works, if the light comes on then it's a ballast issue, if it doesn't then it's a wiring issue. Make sure all connections are snug and nothing is exposed or sitting in any way that could cause a short. Then if that doesn't work, just buy a $100 HID kit from NextMod and sell the ballast that you know was working.

that is true. another question tho for anyone who really knows about HID's. Do you think that it is the ballast that blew on my or is it the ignitor?
