I'd start with punctuation. Period. Then get your hand brake inspected, comma, because they are know to seize. Period.

How much do you think it will be to replace the e brake cable

I think the parts are around 150 - 180 area than I paid 80 labor at Street Performance.
This was after not having an e brake for like 2 years.

I'm in the same boat, driver side rear brake keeps locking up and the e-brake cable is all messed up, the guy quoted me about $450 just for the cable and install and check everything over, hopefully his quote is high cause that just seems rediculously high for a cable, but I have no choice at the moment

This is why its very important to have your brakes serviced regularly as the mechanic will lube the caliper slider pins.
Do you need a replacement? I have used OEM 2.3L Front and Rear Calipers for sale soon upon successful upgrade to the OEM BBK.

WOOOOOOH you do have a choice. The left rear cable was partially seized on my 06 as well, just last week. The e-brake cable should cost you about $112 after the TM3 discount but get it from Joe at Toronto Mazda (yonge and steels) call up street performance (jimmy) and get it installed. The dealership quoted me that price too and told me this whole story about how its tough to do it. Save some money and just give it to Jimmy

Good luck getting that done. I had dealer brake service done, and then a month later had the wheel off and checked the sliders. DRY!!

Again, Scarboro Mazda... What kind of lubricant do they usually use for the brakes? And where exactly do you squirt them?
