About to purchase a Cp-e fmic, Just wondering if you need a AP or anything to have it run smooth.
Also is streetunit and cp-e the only places to purchase from?

Yup,
You would require a tune if you want the car to run at peak performance with fmic. However, you can run fmic without the tune. Doesn't matter where you order from the cost will be pretty much the same.
SU dont carry CPe cus SU are dirt bags
so CPe cut them off
you dont need a tune
but it helps bring the power out

Thanks for the quick response, Thats crummy, I have to intention on buying the AP, maybe just the hypertech but that would be in the future, I guess Ill take a chance and just install it, as long as i dont lose power, I should be happy.

Is that the only power mod you have so far? If so, you may be alright. If you start adding more mods without any kind of tune, you will run into issues like boost cut, fuel cut etc.
If you do plan on adding more mods in the future, get yourself an upgraded fuel pump as we..
yes a pump is a must have for speed 3

Might want to think ahead and gauge how much modding that you might want to do in the future. If you are considering an upgraded turbo, you might want to look at the Ultimate Racing Fmic. It is designed to handle greater power than C-pe because it has a bigger core. Just a thought. Better than having to buy two of them.

Adding a FMIC to your existing mods without a HPFP and something to monitor your ever increasing airflow is a recipe for disaster. Throwing in the Hypertech tune without a Dashhawk is just throwing fuel on the fire. Your safest course of action is the CPE pump or internals (KMD/Autotech), something to datalog (see where you currently are) then add the FMIC, more datalogging, then tune accordingly. Hypertech + Dashhawk is the same price as the AP and the AP has OTS tunes and the ability to tune yourself or get a Pro-tune....no brainer.

Wow, glad i asked. At first I thought it was a stupid question, but now it looks like a no go unless I get the AP, which like i said, dont plan on it. I really just wanted it mostly for looks and the little bit of heat soak. I didnt think just installing a front mount would change the way the car ran that much.
Thanks, good info!
