guys.

took my new wheels to Exclusive Tire today to put them on and they are 18x8 with a +35 offset.

the guys at ET said it was a very aggressive offset for the mazdaspeed and they felt there was a potential issue with rubbing, so they advised against putting them on until doing a bit of research on the forum, or getting the back rolled.

so...

anyone running anything similar, or even more aggressive that can give some input?

really want to get these on, but not at the detriment of the wheel wells..

also, it's honesty from guys at shops like these that would make me go back in a heartbeat. Could have just said "%^&@ him" and put them on anyway.

appreciate it guys!

Are you at stock height? You might get away with minimal rubbing at stock height (you will probably rub over large bumps depending on how much the suspension travels. At that fitment, it's a good idea to roll your fenders.

yeh i'm at stock height but don't plan on staying that way.

what would you say is the max size with say a 1 - 1.5 inch drop, without running into issues.

and if it's just not avoidable, then who does a good job at rolling the fenders and how much does that usually cost?

If you plan on going lower, definitely roll your fenders.

I'm not sure about how low you can go without rubbing but people with aggressive fitment can't even get away without rolling on Prokit-like drop (~1.25"ish).

As for where to get it done, I DIYed it with Donutz, renting the roller from Nextmod (IIRC $65 for rental). If you take your time you can do a good job. As for getting someone else to do it, I have no idea.

What size tires are you mounting?

i think i saw somewhere on here that someone does it for around $120 or so...it's not something i want to do myself.

You'll be just fine. That'll be a decent amount of stretch for the stockers though.
Post pics when done.

Hm, for some reason I had it in my mind that you were running 225... Anyways

But ya, 215 on 8" is a very very mild stretch. Sp3gt has that on his car.

yeh talked to a bunch of the sponsors about it and they weren't worried. considering it's their job to sell me tires, and they weren't trying to, I tend to believe them.

the guys were more concerned about the entire wheel being pretty much in line with the fender.

You might be ok since your tires will go in a bit, and it would be EXTREME if the suspension went so low that the fender would hit the actual rim.

I would still say look into getting it rolled. Why risk it, as tires are not cheap.

they certainly aren't..did some googling and an old post from 09 came up, said stock is
18x7.5
52.5mm

already new the wheel size but didn't know the stock offset.
so looking at an extra 30mm from what stock is now, which is what the guy at ET was saying. Don't get me wrong, I like it as flush as possible. I think it looks crisp. just want to make sure it's done right.

Lol. You're not going to need a roll. Suspension moves in a arc.
