GI: Volleyball meet anyone?

with warmer weather just around the corner i'd like to get out to the beaches for some volleyball. anyone up for it?
another alternative is north beach (indoor beach volleyball) on railside, vic park/lawrence area.
or there's always the option of renting a court at a local community centre.

there's also a place called Victory Volleyball in the Mississauga/Brampton area that has drop in for a couple of hours each night and it's generally pretty empty so you guys could basically have a court to yourselves or play other people.

victory looks pretty good, i've also got angus glen in mind as a rental court. facility would be where ever's closest to the majority of the people.

Well it looks like indoors in the lead for now. I'm Planning for first or second week of June. Poll is open til the end of the month. Which ever gets most votes will be what we're going with.

Yup, for both days, I go with a pretty huge group and its really fun

wow that's a long time. i've been wanting to get back into it this past year but never really had the time and commitment to do it weekly.

time would be 12noon (beach) or after 4pm (indoor court, atm i'm thinking angus glen up on major mac/warden, or possibly milliken by pacific mall)

Why not do both :)

I'm almost certain that by 12pm, you will NOT find a set of posts to put a net up (on a weekend), unless someone has a set of poles too.
Last year, we had to get there at 7-7:30 just to find a set of posts to set up. OVA has taken up like 95% of the posts for tournaments.
I would say indoors is more reliable, but outdoors will be more of a whole day event.

I don't know about anyone else, but I myself have work till 5-6pm on weekdays, so 4pm might not be the best on weekdays. BUT, if you let me know ahead of time... I might be "sick" that day, ha ha.

ok, so i'll be calling into a couple places to get some prices for rentals of courts.

this will be an indoor event in either markham/scarborough in about two weeks from now.
i'll post up price and the date as soon as i get something booked.

ok so it looks like beach vball is a little more popular. i've been calling around for rates for indoor courts and most are around $90/hr which means roughly $8/hr if we get a full 12 people going. north beach indoor beach volleyball is $91/hr for the court. they also have weekend drop ins for $10/ea to play from 10pm-2am.

now i'm sure all of you enjoyed the bubbaq and wouldn't mind having something similar just to kick back with some food and play some vball so woodbine beach is a great way to go.
we'll need someone with a vball net thought to make sure we'll have a court to play on. so if anyone if willing to lend a net to us or come with one. then we will start planning a date for this.

if we don't get a net i will go ahead and starting narrowing down dates and locations for an indoor court. most likely to be at angus glen community centre. (warden/ major mckenzie)

Armadale is pretty nice. Their gym is big and clean.
Starting next week I can prob head to NB on Fridays.

i'm trying to arrange for sunday. need to talk to my manager an make sure i can have that day off or at least have the night off. will find out and narrow down the day early this coming week. likely to post the date by tuesday or wed.
