Guys,

Who here has installed a triple guage pod themselves?

Looking to install some guages above the dash in the near future and want to know what's invloved with the install etc.

Thanks

IIRC, ST3ALTH, Madzilla as well as MPS have installed the triple guage pod. AFAIK, its def not an easy install but if you're somewhat mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself.

I have done it. It takes a while but its definitely doable.

There are quite a few walkthroughs on other forums that help with the proper wiring.

my real question is, is there any cutting/drilling of the dash required?

Depending on which pod you get. If you get the one from CPE: LINK (http://www.cp-e.com/content/mazda3-mazdaspeed3-triple-gauge-pod), no dash modification needed. If you get one like this one: eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/04-05-06-07-08-Mazda3-Face-Center-GAUGE-POD-Mazda-3-/150475536092?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23090a76dc), be prepared to cut the plastic center console vent piece.
Do it right the first time and get the one from CPE.
