Alright guys, it's about time that I lower my car! I'm just looking for some personal opinions based on your experiences driving around the GTA with your lowered 3's.

I'm looking into both Eibach Pro Kit and Eibach Sportlines. The Pro Kit will give me a slight drop, which is ok but I was hoping for a little more like the Sportlines. I'm afraid of winter driving though with a slammed car. This is my daily driver through all seasons. I do both city and highway if that makes a difference. What would you reccomend? Just play it safe, or look like a beast?

I've never had much trouble driving lowered in the winter. I'll qualify that by saying some winters, most of the time I could choose not to drive if the weather was REALLY bad. However, as long as you have winter tires, watch out for really deep snow, and keep your momentum up when encountering bits of deep snow, you'll be fine. That said, I prefer a bit more of a drop than prokits give you.

I have prokits on, and I do sometimes wish I was a bit lower BUT i do like the fact that my ride quality is still great and I'm on stock struts. Not 100% sure but I believe the drop is a bit lower on hatches. I've heard alot about Canuck lowering springs, you might want to get some input on those ones

Prokits are your best choice in terms of comfort, very mild handling improvement, and actually lowering the car. They are not low enough, or firm enough, for my taste. I suggest something bone rattling like Road Magnets, you can get them in the same drop as Prokits, or nice and low at 1.75".

i'm on prokits and i live in toronto and have a lane way to get through to my garage. If i was any lower i would not make it considering its not plowed. As a daily driver i wouldn't want to go lower considering i go up north all the time camping/snowboarding. if your a city slicker then just drop it.

Hehe I'm on CM springs at the moment. No complaints, but I am using Mazdaspeed Accessory shocks which stiffen things up a bit.

Stupid question, but does lowering, and thus reducing drag, affect gas mileage in the slightest bit?

I'm bitchy about the mediocre mileage of my 2.3L 5spd GT, and was hoping to play with it a tiny bit.

I drive all year, snowboard, take trips to the states all at the height I am at now.

That being said I can't keep a skid plate (plastic or otherwise) under my car to save my life.

That's questionable. Just increase your tire pressures 5psi or something.

Also, I drove on sportlines for 1 winters, and I was even lower on coilovers for the next 2. Never had a problem. You just need to avoid deep snow.

Thanks for all the replies! Sounds like the sportlines aren't too bad. But as I've been doing my research it looks like this process is going to be more expensive than I thought. People have been telling me to drop my car right I'll have to get the new springs, new struts as well(cause they will go after 10k), plus with labour and alignment I'm looking at approx $800.

So I need yellows for sportlines. What else would I need? Rear chambers? Sorry, if it seems I hi jacked this thread.

I heard Yellows need a longer bolt to install? http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?44797-Koni-Yellow-shocks-require-longer-bolts

Adjustable camber arms, and 4-wheel alignment.

Oh, and a keep a couple of 2x4's in your trunk.

You'll need to get your front wheels on em to fit a jack under your car
