There are a few options.

MS Accessory is one.

There are also Monroe and KYB as generic replacements.

You guys do realize that Mazdaspeed Accessory shocks have been discontinued for well over a year now. :)

Yes they are night and day compared to OEM. I have them on my car and love them.

Best? I doubt it.

80k on a set of struts/shocks is pretty high. They could blow out in 20k and you would have to replace them again anyway. Plus you would have to pay for swapping them again and another alignment. If the price is right though, I would do it.

New would come with a possible warranty depending on the brand and you would be guaranteed extra life out of the suspension.

Just something to think about.

Is an alignment necessary after installing Koni's?

Absolutely if you are replacing the front struts. I'm not sure about the rears. Im pretty sure you are ok if you just replace the rears.
