My OEM front struts are leaking and need to be replaced. Planning to order some KYB GR-2's. Do I need any other parts or tools? I have a typical assortment of sockets and wrenches but not much beyond that. Thanks!

Spring compressor, mallet, PB Blaster are a MUST. You need something to hit the knuckle off the shock.
Air tools are STRONGLY recommended, but can be done without. It will be a PITA though.

I don't think a mallet will get the strut off the car
you'll need a sledge hammer... that's what I always used to get it off the knuckle!

use the scissor jack that comes with the car to push the strut out. Place the jack in between the strutspring support and the suspension near the knuckle just be careful not to hit the abs

Don't rent spring compressors, they are usually worn quite a bit, buy a set at princess auto. This can be a dangerous job, a lot of energy stored in those springs when compressed. A big hammer is a must and sledge, metric allen keys, a propane torch is good to have as well. New struts have a bracket for brake line, needs opening up.

renting spring compressors are safe, done it a million times, i trust them with my life, sledge is not necessary
