2.3L Disi PCV valve maintenance schedule???

Wondering why there is no change interval on this mechanical item??
Mazda service manual section 01-16B-10
states if when air is applied in the crankcase direction and air passes, valve is defective replace. Now since this valve is mechanical how would you know when to replace since it is in the hardest place to get at?

is this the only way to tell? under negative crankcase pressure you could actual suck air from the intake manifold and deposit it in the crankcase and typically in the intake manifold is air:fuel mixture!!

Any thought or facts about this PCV system?

There really isnt anything specific to change it.

I personally think people should change it during one of the big maintenance intervals at minimum (maybe 48K kms and 96K kms). I am pretty sure the owner on mine said he changed it once, but the more and more I look into it I dont think he did. I personally went with a new PCV valve and while I am in there add in a OCC. Both are on order so both will go in at the same time.

Our PCV system isnt the greatest, adding a OCC helps.
