For food at a good resto with a decent discount. If you visit during the period of the promo.
Otherwise I always recommend corner house. It's nice enough and cost are reasonable.

the Guu - great Japanese food and terrific atmosphere. Do be prepared to wait upwards of 1.5-2 hours on the weekends and 30min-1hr on weekdays during dinner time.

Pitch black dining experience at Onoir. Food is similar to banquet hall food (not great), but the experience is exciting.

Go over to Centreville http://www.centreisland.ca/default.aspx by a ferry. Do take note of the operating schedule during your time of visit as the ferry runs on a shortened timeframe during that part of the month.

if you're having pho, you should head 5 mins north (warden/steeles) plaza, assuming you're talking about pho88 on bamburg..? try pho viet, anything other than pho, try that place that used to be kelseys, those are the original owners of train years ago.

There's this fantastic place on Yonge St called The Brass Rail, they've got really good food. It's got an .... old rail car theme to it ... Yeah, that's it.... Some nights you can get dinner and a show there, it's pretty awesome.

I think I am going to try it out. There are lots of choice:
Guu: http://www.guu-izakaya.com/
Corner House: http://cornerhouse.sites.toronto.com/
As for Pho...

and

As for Korean BBQ the cheap all you can eat chinese ran places are ok but do yourself a favor and go to korea town and try the real korean BBQ (bloor and christie). The meat quality is way better and the costs comes out to be the same.

There's also a nice Japanese restaurant along Sheppard East, just after McCowan.... Called Ten-Ichi.. It's all-you-can eat and they've got a bunch of selection.. Here, you pick items from the menu and order. The thing I like about it the most is that they're served in small portions so you can pretty much get 1 of each and taste everything on their menu. :) :) :)

Where about downtown Toronto are you staying may give us an idea of how far you can walk or take public transit. I think for the public transit system here you can buy weekly passes but you can get day passes for sure that allows you unlimited travel for the day if you plan on moving about lots.(www.ttc.ca).
Assuming Yonge St. and Dundas St. is the centre of the city and you're walking at my pace. West to Spadina Ave.(chinatown) is 15mins. North to Bloor St.(Yorkville area) 15mins. South to lake front 15mins. Not much to the east and at a simple stroll is no more than 25mins.

+1 on jonsmazda's post. i'm not one to hang on to chain restaurants but keg and baton rough actually do their stakes pretty decent. you do however want to avoid harbour 60 stakehouse though overpriced and they can't cook steak if their life depended on it.
>>>also, i thought you would have already been in and out of toronto already....?

Brazillian Steakhouse
(416) 465-0969
Greektown/The Danforth
95 Danforth Ave
Toronto, ON M4K
All You Can Eat (AYCE) MEAT!
CN Tower..The ROM..The Bata Shoe Museum (If your gf likes shoes)
You can also go to Bloor-Yorkville to look at the designer stores and cute cafes =)
It's nice to go Lakeshore as well and maybe you guys would want to go to Centre Island..you can also have a dinner boat cruise! (You can google "Toronto boat cruise" and you'll find a few), you usually would be on the boat for 3-4 hours, dinner + dancing + views.
Steak places: Ruth Chris Steakhouse & The Keg
If you want a cool dining experience..
Check out O.Noir, dine in the dark!
Check out The Sultan's Tent, live belly dancing and gourmet moroccan cuisine!
Check out Panorama, amazing views and nice place to hang out and have drinks, it has the best views + couches on the patio/balcony
You can basically take pictures everywhere, but you can go to the Fairmont Royal York and take a picture in the lobby, they have a really nice deco & they have a big clock lol (kinda like taking a picture at the Grand Central stn in NYC)..
PLUS..Toronto has an underground area where it connects different buildings, it's called PATH (http://www.toronto.ca/path/), they have various shops as well!
PS Don't go to the Brass Rail, it's a stripclub..unless your gf doesnt mind =) it is also for tourists so its not that raunchy..lol.
