So I waited until the heat of the day with the car out in the sun. Used some fishing line to get started and tried to remove my mouldings as best I could.
Now, obviously there was going to be some residue but how the **** can I get rid of it. I tried goo gone and a credit card/plastic paint tool and I CANNOT seem to make any headway.
Any advice?

Use a hair dryer to warm and soften up the residue - then drench it with goo gone. Wait a few minutes and try rubbing it off with your thumb. you'll have to really press onto it
Don't use a credit card as it will scratch the panels

Roll that stuff up like a booger. It will pick itself up off the paint. BTW, there is an epic thread dedicated to this topic; some 10 pages or so.

Just don't do what I did and use acetone :bang
Use tons of goo gone and let it soak in. Then use more.
