I've been really considering the Tri-point turbo kit for my '04... however I have no desire to have to remove it every 2 years for emissions. I've looked around a bit and it seems that people think it will not pass, but I have yet to find any concrete evidence either way.
Has anyone taken this turbo kit through an emissions test?

Well there's only one member on here that has the Tri-Point. Best to message John aka midnightfxGT. He's got the Hi-Boost kit and I'm sure he has had an emission test done.

I will be installing a tri-point kit this week on my car.
If your car is lowered bring it to a place that has a drive UP dyno for driveclean and yourcar will be exempt from going on the dyno because its too low.
I am a certified driveclean inspector, and can tell you there are a few legal ways to meet emissions standards when your car may not pass a normal test.

Let me know if the tri-point passes the test after u install it. I might install one in my car if i decide to keep it. Otherwise, ill be getting a turbo car.

I cant speak for tripoint but future kits may be different than the one that is on the site. My understanding is that im getting the last one, as my manifold is coming off mazdas2.5 turbo SEMA car.
Something about the wrong manifolds being shipped so the kits will have to be different from now on.

My car isn't lowered so that won't work for me, I was looking into the testing procedures and there is something called a conditional pass, but only if the repairs to the emissions will cost more than $450... But if you can find a shop that will quote an uninstall for the turbo for more than $450 you might be in business, heh.

I found something interesting at a local used dealership yesterday, a used 04 3 with a hiboost turbo kit in it. The place was closed at the time, but a friend and I plan to go back and interrogate the dealer to see if that car passes or not... could not believe I found a boosted 3 the same year as mine in Ottawa, and hell it was even the same Galaxy grey as mine!

Get a flanged midpipe in your exhaust so that you will be able to bolt in a cat for your etest and remove it for when you're done. Should be easy to put in and remove.
