Hey all,
Just wanted to pass along the word. My friends and I almost got scammed last night. We were at a local mall hanging out, it was gettting late and the Mall was closing. We were approached by one guy about 5'7"ish and probably from the look either latino, portugese or italian, he was with an older male, either his uncle or his father.
There were a bunch of us together relaxing, and the guy pass by and offered an iphone 4 for $300, then suddenly changed it to $200. This got everyone interested and we asked to see it. Yup, sure enough he had the box and everything, even took it out and show us the accessories and plastic protector was still on.
"Brand New" he said. There was a lot of buzz and commotion around it as we tried to figure out why it was so cheap. I was telling him if we could put our sim in to test it and check it out. The second he turned it on we saw the crappy screen and icons. You can see the display was not the crisp retina display of the real iphone 4 and everyone knew it was a scam.
One of my buddies called the guy out, and we started to scatter and got back to what we were doing. What a scammer, it was one of those fake iphone 4 imports that had the iphone 4 casing and that was it. Even when you look at the cheap print job of the box told you it was a scam.
So watch out people.
