Emission Test and Lowered/Modified Cars

Had an appointment this morning at 9am to get my Emissions test done. Recommended by Jimmy to the shop right besides Street Performance. However when I got there, they advised me that since my car is lowered and has an aftermarket front bumper, they won't be able to strap down the car! :bang

They could do the test but said that since it won't be strapped down, I could have the body, wheels and tires hit the metal bumpers they place on the side of the rollers and damage them. Of course they would not be responsible. I asked them to remove my car and I would find another place that can do an e test on modified cars since I could potentially have about a thousand dollars worth of repairs by the end of it.

So the question is, does anyone know of a shop that can handle lowered cars for an e test? Also, with the current set up of i/h/e ( AEM/Vibrant/Borla), what are the chances of passing the e test?

A number of us have gone to Hakka emissions.

If you don't want your car scratched up, tell them you want to pull it into the garage yourself.

ive been runnin an i/h/e for roughly 5-6yrs..no issues with being able to pass. Just needed a new cat this year is all

Around Finch and Markham, IIRC. I think there's a post on the forum (shop reviews?). I made an appointment, however, I did see people walk in when I was there. I always advise calling though, just so you don't end up disappointed if you walk in and they are fully booked.

Went to Hakka Emissions in Scarborough today......passed with flying colors even with the car lowered, Header, CAI and CBE! woot. In and out within 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

ugh, guess im out of luck too as my dad's bday is july. I hope i have the same results as you Jon. Basically same setup except I replaced the borla resonator with a vibrant ultra quiet one

Honestly folks, I would expect that most of the cars on here would pass E-test easily, as the engines are running more efficiently than stock.

You don;t need to go anywhere special because your lowered. Any etest garage can do it :)

Yup. With the new etest, they no longer use a dyno/roller. They just plug into your OBD port and scan.
