I've had my eibach pro kits in a box for more than a week now. And I'm looking for a place nearby to get them installed, so I called a couple of shops and asked them for quotes. (Knowing that Street Performance does it for $100? and takes about an hour job or so..)

They were all saying different things. B-Line Mechanics was saying that it takes 3-4 hours and it would cost $250. Robinson Automotive was telling me its "usually a $400-$500 job and it takes at least 3 hours to do." The guy on the phone asked me how much mileage do i have on my car. I tell him 82k. He went on to say my stock struts wouldn't be able to handle it and I should get a replacement done at the same time..So I told this guy about the quote I got from B-Line Mechanics was $250. He laughed on the phone and told me to "Go with those guys then" and hanged up.

Anyway this might be just a rant, but I thought I should just post it to let you guys know how much a "usual" suspension work goes for in brampton/sauga.

It's about $120 from Jimmy at SP, unless you can get a bunch of guys do all get it done.

Jimmy knows his stuff. Have you also considered that they might be including an alignment in their price where Jimmy does not? They still don't come close but just trying to bring their numbers closer.

They really only have to do a lot of work on the fronts. The rears are pretty straight forward. Most mechanics go by the book for pricing and probably just quote every car at the same price.

Sounds like making the drive out to Jimmy is worth every penny.

Nothing wrong with the price, it's the standard price for the service. Off the book value they can set their own pricing.

+1

But I love the $400 quote.
You know that guy took a look at the Chiltons manual where it says 60-90 minutes per corner times $75 shop rate.

Keep in mind though, that these guys gotta pay the tech their wage based on how long the book says it's going to take. (even if he's done in an hour, he gets paid for 4hrs)

I'd go to Jimmy. He did my first spring install.

I went to APH for my camber link and coilover install. They screwed up my camber link install. The way that they have it installed anyone who attempts to adjust the camber during an alignment will need to remove the rear shock first because it's impossible to get a wrench on the link to adjust it. That's my opinion.

Go to SP for best springs install price. I went to Level Auto for my camber kit install and alignment and they did a great job! 3D imaging alignment is the way to go for alignments. Level Auto specializes in lowered cars.
