Hey guys .... so i got sportlines installed .. but the front sits just a bit high for my liking ...

is there any way i could make the front about .5 inch lower ... by removing something or anything like that?

thanks

How long ago did you get them installed? Has it gone through the settling period (1-2 weeks)?

If so, the best thing I would suggest is to go coils.

Were they just installed? Usually wait a few weeks and they get a bit lower.

they are used ... so the settling is done ...

i would go to coils .. but to much goin on this year .. so il wait till next year or so for that ... for now im just looking to see if i can remove or replace something to make it go just a tad bit lower

What struts are you using?

I have never known anyone to use these but...

Realistically there isn't anyway to get lower on the sportlines without cutting. I don't think we have spring pads that could be removed for any noticeable difference.

insaini.. i think you should sell me your sportlines ;)

Might be his struts hold him up. Guys using GR2's are limited in terms of how low they can go because of the struts.

You can cut a coil. I don't recommend it, but people have done it.

what are the disadvantages of doing this?

Isnt there a way using your OEM struts by draining out the old fluid and putting in a better fluid?

what are the disadvantages of doing this?

The spring rates change from known to unknown which can effect the ride.

If you do it do not use heat.

you're going to totally annihilate your stock struts by trying to go lower than sportlines. Modifying them in any way to increase your drop is definitely NOT recommended.
Even the drop w/ sportlines alone will cause your shock struts to leak in relatively short order. Unless you have absolutely no regard for your vehicle I'd advise you to get by w/ the sportlines until you can afford coilovers, camber kit, etc.... No use cheaping out and potentially damaging other components just to get lower. Why do you want to get so low in such a hurry anyway?
If you want to do it properly its going to take time, money and some experimentation. I'm not lowered myself, but thats one thing I'm pretty sure of, after just a quick perusal of threads on the topic. if you cant afford to do it right, maybe hold off until you can.

Actually they don't cut them but they will be able to get you lower. Forgot about this option entirely. This is what Steven did and he is LOW.

For that amount, why not save up for some coils? Seems to make more sense for the long run.

i told him what i wanted to have done ( front to be lowered about .5" more ... and he told me he would compress my springs and put something on them so that they are stiffer ... not worth $400 ....

lol i was looking for something cheap and easy ... i wouldn't pay $400 for a .5" drop loll

.75 cost me about 300 on top of coilovers.

Now it's a kit

Wait a bit and they will settle. Sportlines are pretty low already. Do you have a front lip or planning to get it?

My lip isn't actually any lower than the bottom of my bumper. I don't know lip height but center of fender to ground I am 23.5 in the front and about 24 in the rear

your options

1. cut springs and loose ride quality (not recommended)
2. do nothing and leave it
3. if you wanna be slammed get kw v2 because they can go lower than bc coilovers, very expensive though
4. buy bc coilovers and drop them to the lowest, ride quality on the BCs are really good for the price of the coilover
