My check engine light was on and I had it scanned to reveal code P2404 - Evaporative emissions system leak detection Pump sense circuit Range/performance. Does anyone know what this can be?
I also had the CEL cleared. It has not returned in about 5 startups. If this problem persists, the CEL should return correct? If it doesn't return, and I do nothing, am I asking for trouble?
Thanks.

Do the right thing and replace the pump. If you don't you risk screwing up other components in your evap system.

I had the same thing right after I lowered the car, Jimmy checked it out and it was a pinched wire

FLIPDADY - Does the tech have to check to see if it is indeed the pump that needs to be replaced, can it be something else? Can this wait a month so that i can go in and have this finxed when i bring it in for my next oil change or is there a great risk? How much would this fix cost roughly?
PearlM3 - So you are saying it may not necessarily be the pump?

Could it just be that his gas cap isn't on right?
