View Full Version : Wild Mazda of Toronto car delivery?

So I'm driving home after work as usual this afternoon around 4:35pm heading East on the 401 Express, when I notice a brand new silver Mazda 3 sedan with alloys (no 2.5 badge). The vehicle looked like it was just plucked from a lot as it had bits of paper still stuck to the front and side windows and few spots of white plastic on one of the door panels. The car had the dealer plate dangling on the back with Mazda of Toronto case protecting the plate. The young driver was also wearing a Mazda garage uniform, so I'm guessing he was picking up a vehicle. Sadly this guy was driving the car all over the place doing quick lane changes and hard accelerations. If this was my car I would be pissed. Besides, I thought new vehicles were delivered to the dealership by trailer? If this is how some MoT cars are delivered, what are these guys doing with our cars when we take them in for service? :S Definitely not a good feeling after seeing this.

EDIT: 401 Eastbound just East of Islington

MoT's compound is around langstaff and 7, cars get dropped off at the compound cause the lot at MoT can't handle that many cars.
Perhaps a dealer trade, or a company demo vehicle that the staff took out.
Maybe they had to make a delivery run for some parts and the parts van is out.

While I would be disappointed if it was a customer's car, it is honestly to be expect at pretty much any dealership. The porters tend to be young and underpaid, they are going to unfortunately do that. Of course, if it was my vehicle, I'd be for sure pissed.

Took my old Chrysler in for an oil change at Parkway Chrysler once... wandered into the showroom to check out a Challenger or something, saw a lot jockey pull a burnout in my car. I was not pleased. Got a free oil change out of it.

^I would have demanded more than a free oil change. New tires too or something.

When I got my car two years ago, they drove it 300 km to Ajax.

I'm pretty sure the job title is officially called that. I used to work for Acura North Toronto and that's definitely what they called it years ago.

It was called a porter when i worked at a dealership. And I was mostly very gentle with the cars.

I'd surely be pissed but you know many aggressively drive these things since it's not "theirs"

And I was mostly very gentle with the cars.

Mostly? :rolleyes

Last year when I still had my mazda 3, I brought it to Select Mazda in hamilton (on centennial) to get a engine mount replaced and I was across the street at tim hortons sitting down waiting. I hear a loud exhaust (magnaflow) ripping it down the street and there goes my car flying atleast 80km down the road. I told the front service guy about it and first he denied it, then I said what other car has the same decals and gold rims as mine? He went to the back and yelled at the guy and came out and told me that they had to drive it with a little bit of speed to make sure its all okay and stiff. :bang

It's called the QEW, use it to check for "speed and stiffness".

Well, if you ask YOUR mom, she'd tell you about the lack of speed, and sheer amount of stiffness in a lot of TM3 members. ;)
