Hey Guys.
Need a little help and despite all the googling, I cant seem to be able to find an relevant answer.
I've got over 100 bottles of 2Litre Pop stored up for a big function coming up. I am looking for those red (or whatever color) plastic crates that the pop is shipped in.
They usually hold 8bottles and are totally stackable. I went to a grocery store once, and they said I couldn't take them - But I want to know where/how i can get a hold of some.
Im going the cardboard box route right now... but after moving them a number of times, its not as user friendly as those crates.
Thanks

I would suggest you try a few convenience stores/gas stations, they normally store them outside.

Coke's head office is (IIRC) in Flemo Don Mills and Eglinton area near the East York TC.
You can ask them for the crates - may need to put a deposit though.

Coke has a DC in Brampton. Try there to see if they sell any.

As I recall, retailers and distributors pay deposits for those things themselves, not sure if they'd be willing to part with them

They may but I would expect that they would require a deposit like mentioned above. Make sure you get stuff in writing just in case they try to take your money lol.

Yup, stores put a deposit and when they return get their $$ back. You won't find any store that will give them away or lend them unless you work there.

and the deposit aint cheap.
I remember milk crates used to be like 30 bucks when we lost one. That was back in the late 90's.
The best bet may be rubbermaids, cheap, varity of sizes and easily used for other things after.

When I was in the grocery store, milk crates were $25...but ya, chances are the pop totes $10-20 each.

Why do you have 100 bottles of coke? Why not just pay the caterer or whatever to supply the drinks? (assuming you're having the function catered)

Deposit is nothing. You get the money back once you return them.

because it's cheaper if you supply your own drinks. It's probably his wedding or something and this would be normal for the bride and groom to bring in their own pop. I think I met the OP last year at Street Performance and he said his wedding is coming up sometime this year.

How about just using the cardboard boxes but putting the boxes onto a dolly you buy from Canadian Tire or Costco??
