My car was broken into in Hamilton

Already posted on jdmr but I just wanted to let others know about my winter beater (thank god) that was broken into last week. :(

My 96 EK is my winter beater that has been sitting on the driveway for a few months. I live in hamilton in one of the better areas and this morning I seen that my driver door wasn't closed all the way. I went to go open it and my whole steering column is f****d, its completely bent to the left, the ignition is near the top by my cluster, there were pliers left on the ground in the car.

This all happend around 2am at night during the rain storm. Down the street a few houses my mom found a newer model black front bumper (not sure which car) that is broken in 2 pieces. The bumper was right beside a whole pile of garbage and bins on the street and it has tire marks running across it.

My guess is that some kids were caught doing something illegal and when they bolted off they hit the garbage cans and recycling bins that might have taken their bumper off and ran over it.

I just wanted to warn everyone else in the hamilton area to watch your cars at night, hamilton is one sketchy ass city

whoever tried jacking my car couldnt take out shit. they tried ripping out the airbag.. they twisted the whole damn column, and ripped off the plastic. :bang

A few hours later when I discovered my car was broken into, I looked around more and I now have a messed up front bumper and whatever the hell this is.

for those that dont know, opening a civic is easier than opening a can with a can opener. I can use the key from any older model civic to open my ek.

Damn Joe that sucks..... my 3 almost got ransacked once.. I live close to your area... (west mountain?) I accidentally forgot to lock my door and the next morning.. I found my passenger door open.. my glove box open.. my gps was taken out along with some little stuff.. but all they took was my pack of cigarettes that had 2 sticks left... :loco

That sucks man. Did you notify police? You didn't touch the pliers and bumpers and stuff right? Try and preserve them as best you can till the cops come by so they can get prints off of them. Hopefully the prints are good enough that they can nail these douche bags.

haha. I was thinking the same thing. the car is worth <$2000. the cost of their time is worth more :(
