Howdy! I'm not certain if anybody here has ever post about train horn or anything related to it. Anyway, I'm thinking of installing a train horn on my car and would like to get some ideas from anyone here who has knowledge or experience on it. Thanks in advance.

First: I think you'd probably need a compressor of some sort to power it.
Second : For the love of God, don't do it.

Why would you even need one? Just slap on a pair of Hella horns.

I was going to put a train horn on my truck, but trying to find somewhere to mount the tank for the compressor is a pain (without using the bed)
I listened to some Hella's on youtube as an alternative but they don't seem to be low tone enough for me?
Right now I have better luck sticking my head out the window and saying honk than using my girly horn.
Wonder how the electric air horns sound?
I'm in for updates as well.

A friend of mine installed a real train horn in his pickup truck. He ended up having to mount the dedicated air compressor in the bed. The setup is anything but compact, and probably too large to fit comfortably inside a mazda3. It sounds ****ing rediculous though.....scares the absolute shit out of people. great for when someones pissing you off :D
I think he may have put together a webpage about the install I'll ask and let you know.
If you decide to go through with it, please post pics & video

any idea where I can get the Stebel Nautilus? I've been trying to find a louder horn for awhile, and was starting to think a train horn was the only option.

I used to have Spartan Air horns installed in an Acadian. 12" and 14" horns, with a Fire Extinguisher as reservoir and a small compressor to pump up the reservoir. Trigger switch and away you go. Still have it in a box somewhere, ready to go, but Mazda3 would be a tight fit. Not sure where you could but the horns, you would want them facing forward.
P.S. These never seemed to help with the idiots on the road.
