strange the wife stood by his side the whole time. not strange that the cop didn't get in any trouble. if your a cop or family of a cop you can get away with a lot more.

Yeah, that's true... but when it's publicized, the punnishment is usually a lot more severe... Like 2 week suspensions.. (paid vacation)

Calgary doesn't screw around. The last guy busted DUI was fired outright. (Probably a little harsh: I would have suspended him without pay until the verdict came down of guilty and then fired him. If found not guilty, retroactively paid and sent back to the streets with a letter of reprimand on file for getting himself in the position to be arrested in the first place.)
The Mounties on the other hand... *facepalm*
