Hey guys,

I just got my sway bars replaced to mazdaspeed sways and now I hear a thump sound at the rear sometimes when I go over bumps.

My mechanic tells me the shocks are wearing out because I had upgraded to mazdaspeed springs 4 years ago without replacing my OEM shocks. My mechanic says that due to the thicker bar of the ms sways I will hear the shocks (more noticable)

What do u guys think? Is he right? Or is it time for me to get a set of koni yellows???

If the shocks did not exhibit this noise before, it probably is the rear sway bar bushing not being greased enough or old and cracked.

Sway bar clunk.

I assume the say bar links didn't have any play/movement? Should have been checked when bar was installed.

Is it a harsh sound or dull?

If the thumps feels like its hitting the frame of the car then it is your endlinks.
Either they are bad and you need mazdaspeed end links not that you have the speed sway bar, or they just need to be tightened.
Happened to me, ended up being a loose end link
