LA Fitness Price / Reviews?

Hello, I'm thinking of switching gyms from Goodlife to LA Fitness.... nothing wrong with Goodlife at all, I actually really like them...

however.. LA Fitness is literally a five minute drive from my house right now...

just wondering if anyone currently goes to LA Fitness and how much do you pay for your membership per month? Also, what's the experience like?

Currently I'm paying $60 a month at Goodlife with Towel Service and I can go to any Goodlife club....

If it's cheaper to go with LA Fitness... I'm totally in.

Which LA Fitness are you talking about?
If its the one by Oakville the one beside AmC and Wildwings...
Then i used to go to that one...so im telling you this club will be so much more expensive than Goodlife...although when i first joined they have a promotional as a group of 3...which i believe is membership fee was $250 and it was $45/month

But regurlarly it will be more expensive than that...im not sure not but just go check them out...i believe they have a 3 day guest pass for free if not 1 day guess pass im not sure about now...

Now im looking for a club that has a basketball court inside it since i would like to play bball after my workout to work on my cardio.

I used to go to LA fitness by AMC Courtney Park for the longest time (when it was Family Fitness), and while the facilities are ok, they're far and few in between. I can't really say much about price as I left a good while ago (paying $36/month), but I enjoy the availability of Goodlife and pay around $32/month with them.

That said, it's next to impossible to get that rate unless you know someone, can find someone willing to let you get added to their account, or find someone looking to get rid of their existing lower-priced goodlife contracts.

Me and my buddies have an amazing plan with LA Fitness by the Courtney Park AMC. I don't think I will ever be quitting lol. We pay less than 25 after taxes a month for our plan.

As for the facilities; the equipment is alright, but sometimes it's kind of crowded and you may have to wait for a turn. I normally go after 8, so it is a bit less stuffed. The odd time I've went between 5-8, and it was very busy at that particular location. I have not been to any of the other locations, so I cannot comment.

If you're thinking about joining LA Fitness come out to the grand opening of the new one in Brampton this Saturday. I'm sure they'll have some good deals. My wife and I already joined, $150 registration combined and $25 per month each. We've been going 3-4 times a week and really enjoying it. And there's a pool, and basketball/volleyball court.
Even if you wouldn't go to the new Brampton location all the time, you can sign up there to get whatever promotional offer they'll have for their grand opening and you can still go to any LA Fitness (except the signature locations). I'd recommend it.

I pay $29+taxes at the Brampton South location and I thought that was cheap, considering what I used to pay at the Y. I've never been to the gym earlier than 10pm so I can't comment on how busy it gets.

I work out there in the morning. Then at night time I go to the new one in west brampton to do cardio. Its nice in the morning, but i find the airport one stinks lol

I don't see why not, as they emphasized that we can go to any club we want except the signature ones.

^^ To that note, when I was doing referrals to people who I worked with, it was a $50 cheque per 1-year contract so I walked away with at least $300. Not sure if that program still exists....

so I just went to LA Fitness tonight and spoke with a Membership Consultant... he was pretty good at overcoming my objections but I didn't sign up just yet..

Prices were as follows:

$149 up front and $24.99 per month (Open Contract)
$99 up front and $29.99 per month (Open Contract)

just for myself... definitely a lot cheaper than what I'm paying now and I would end up saving over $300 per year.... most likley going to switch over once I cancel Goodlife...

$149 + $25 per month + tax. Last night I was told that after the grand opening the price will go up, but who knows if that's true. :)
You could see if they'd match Premier's price at today's grand opening.

If you're referring to the LA fitness by Bovaird and Airport then I would recommend you avoid it. I joined and literally can't stand the pungent stench of that place. Not to mention the lack of gym etiquette from the majority of members (ie. wiping, putting back equipment). I don't even want to think about the pool conditions.

With that aside, the company itself gave me a great deal so unless it's a different location I would strongly discourage you from joining that specific facility.

Not to mention the lack of gym etiquette from the majority of members (ie. wiping, putting back equipment). I don't even want to think about the pool conditions.

With that aside, the company itself gave me a great deal so unless it's a different location I would strongly discourage you from joining that specific facility.

omg, tell me about it. I went swimming there yesterday, and the water was salty. Like that is honestly disgusting. I was also playing around so i ended up choking and swallowing some of the water *shivers*.

This is not too bad for me though because I now have 4 ppl under my account at this price so I save significantly over a shorter time period compared to Goodlife which was offering me the $1 a day but only access to single club and no swimming pool at that facility

Yeah I think I got that same deal when I was a member and I can bring in 2 guests as long as I stay a member. IMO it was an excellent deal, but who wants to go to a gym where you have to wear a gas mask LOL.

thanks for the info... I was wondering what the funky smells were when I was taking a tour.... perhaps I will try and find another LA Fitness.... my main concern is location though....

I live in the Castlemore area and there isn't much choice for gyms around here....yet.... unless I'm just missing something...
