So this past weekend I was finally able to install my coilovers. It went well and I'm happy with the results. I just need to fine tune the height and it'll be just where I want it. So yesterday I gave it a good wash before I went home to sleep a few hours for my night shift.

When I got up to go pick the girlfriend up from work I came out to a couple of deep dings in the roof and a smaller one on the drivers door and there were rocks spread out around the car. The car next to me also had a bad ding in the roof. The rocks look very similar to the ones used in the roof on the building. I came to find out later that there were people working on the roof throughout the day. Now I'm in a fight with the property manager to pay for it, or at least pay for my deductible. :bang

A good week gone to shit...

I hope they do pay for the repairs and I hope they do it fast.. That looks like a good place for rust formation......

Good luck and I hope all goes well!

Oh it's getting fixed soon. I hate having any dings on my car. These are the first dings I've ever had on it. I've already talked to insurance and made a police report so if I don't get a quick response from the manager I'm going to just pay the deductible and get it done.

So I'm not getting anywhere fast right now with the PM. I sent him an email today that he promises to forward it to the proper people in the head office. Here's what I wrote:

On Wednesday July 13, 2011 at approximately 8:45am, I parked my vehicle in the outdoor parking area that surrounds the building at ******* in Cambridge Ontario undamaged. I was parked in the space to the immediate right of the entrance to this parking area.

At approximately 3:15pm the same day I returned to the vehicle to find 2 deep dents with paint damage in the roof of the vehicle. There was also a dent with paint damage on the drivers door. I also noticed that the vehicle that was parked next to mine also had damage to its roof. There were pebbles surrounding both vehicles that are similar to the ones found on the roof of the building.

I contacted the building manager to find out who had access to the roof. I was informed that "*******" had access to the roof most of the day and the door was left unlocked for them during this time. I asked if I could see the surveillance footage to see if I could pinpoint what time exactly the damage occurred and if anyone approached the vehicle to inspect the damage done. Unfortunately the manager does not have the access code for the surveillance system so this wasn't possible.

There was not a notice posted that there was going to be people working on the roof. If I had known that work was being done on the roof I would not have parked in this area to avoid damage.

This is the second time my vehicle has been damaged because there wasn't notice given that work was being done around the exterior of the building.

On September 20, 2010, I parked my vehicle in the spaces around the building in the morning. At approximately 12:30pm I was looking out over my balcony and noticed a large white sheet on my vehicle. When I went down to investigate, I found that there were contractors painting the ceiling and columns that partially cover the parking area. I removed the sheet to inspect the vehicle and found white paint droplets on parts of the car. I immediately took the car to a car wash. Fortunately I was able to clean off the paint.

I have a photo from the incident in 2010 as well as photos of the damage done on July 13th. I've also kept many of the pebbles that fell from the roof, some of them split in half on impact.

I understand that this is most likely an accidental occurrence by someone either employed or otherwise contracted by *********. I respectfully request that you pay to repair the damage caused on July 13, 2011 and ensure that in the future, notice is posted when work is to be performed on the exterior of the building.

you should have a follow up letter and mail it along with a copy of the original letter, registered. That way you get proof that they received the letter/complaint (Registered mail requires a signature to be delivered)
