Would you buy a car if the guys who built your engine did this...

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/07/ask-the-best-and-brightest-chrysler-workers-partying-again-still/

I'm considering a Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, but after this... wow... luckily that hemi engine is not made at that plant.

Have you never had a beer on a company lunch and gone back to work?

I'm not condoning what they are doing, just putting it out there ;)

Nope. I work in construction and I know a few guys who do it and I swear I hate working with them. I make it vocal that substances on and off the job can effect how you work. Some guys it makes them better, others worse. Most of the time, worse.

wow... I mean am I surprised? ......no. Am I shocked at how dumb these ppl are ... yes! I mean seriously!

I agree they should all get fired. I mean I like beer and other things as much as the next guy but I would NEVER do it at work. It's how I make my lively hood and I would never want to risk that. Retards.

We just sold our 2008 Caravan SXT... IMO they are made as inexpensive as possible both from a quality of materials and an engineering perspective.

Having a drink during a lunch meeting is one thing. To go off site specifically for drinking and smoking (not cigarettes) is another. This was a daily occurrence to to get their buzz on, not a business meeting. You can't compare one to the other.

Ya I understand it is not the same thing, same type of principle though...

I agree there should be consequences for what they were doing, and be punished.

Hey, there are times I wish my meetings would end up with me walking away with a nice buzz! :huge smile

Yes, I intend on buying a 300 in the near future!

As stupid as this is, I wont judge the entire company based on a few people's actions.

On the other hand, If I just purchased a car and it acted like a piece of junk out of that plant......then I would do a law suit ;)

Phil like iv said before, the only Mopar vehicals i would buy would be either a 392 Challanger, a Skittle(srt-4 neon), or the newest charger Srt-8 with the new 8speed.

The difference between a lunch meeting with alcohol and these guys is that they're operating heavy machinery and other potentially dangerous assembly line equipment, PLUS assembling cars that people will be riding around in. There is just no excuse for what they did.

It's not just Chrysler ... It happens every where... I remember a buddy of mine that was a millwright at the GM plant and some of the works did te same thing as those guys did

As much as I despise people who drink alcohol or do drugs while at work, firing is not the right action, at first anyways. Most companies will have systems to help out if people have issues with dependencies. These workers should be given the opportunity to attend these sessions. But if they continue afterward, then a good swift kick out the door would suffice.

It's funny you say that cause I was talking to my parents Neibour and we got talking about thoses guys and he was saying how his place of works makes them sign contracts saying if their caught drinking or doing drunk they are automatically fired... But in the past they did what you said about getting help

This happens at GM all the time, on the line. Know more than a few workers there who have drank on the line. Its not right at all. I also know people who work at the Toyota plant, and when they get together with the GM folks its funny to listen to. GM lets them away with murder, and the 'yota workers actually work.

I'll admit - I've gone to work intoxicated or under the influence before, and on more than one occasion. Not saying I was slurring words and red-eyed. a beer on my lunch break or a few draws isn't uncommon at all.

But I don't assemble cars or operate heavy machinery for a living
