Damn it! I want to but I will probably wait. If I was running a tower and could swap out the drive then maybe but I have an iMac and don't trust it. Snow was a huge change with application compatibility and I'm sure it won't be as bad as the jump from 10.5-10.6, but I need to make sure that everything is working properly.
I'll probably wait a couple weeks and see how the reviews are. Make sure the problems won't affect my work.
EDIT: Yep! I will definitely be waiting. :(

Here's one review from Gizmodo:

I'll be waiting as well. But regardless of the reviews, good or bad, I'll probably still have to update because it's the natural progression of technology. You can't avoid it.

I'm going to update once I get home from work...
I can't believe you guys wait on OS updates. =) Apple hasn't released a Vista-like update yet!
I've been running Lion since this morning (I had to get up early for work, so I decided to upgrade my computer as soon as it was available). I was really eager to get the Mail update, since my old Mail program was chugging along (massive mailbox). All things considered, I like Lion... worth the $30. Already upgraded all our Macs...
Edit: I don't like the new scrolling method though. It makes sense for a touch screen, not so much on a computer. Entire OS seems snappy, even tho it's been indexing in the background for the last 4 hours.......

I never have waited before, I just want to make sure that all the essential programs I need for work are still 100% functional before I update. Snow was never as bad as a Vista, etc but it took a long time before everyone had caught up.

Im downloading it right now. How long does the app take to download on the bar on the bottom of my mac screen?
Im sure its well worth the $30 bucks.

Downloading it now on my MP. Hopefully I don't have to shell out another $30 to update my MBP.

I was just going to ask if you are able to use it more than once? I guess for $30 bucks its probably not lol

We'll soon see, but if they treat it like any other app it will be free as long as you sign on to that computer onto the App Store with the same ID that you original used.
Fingers crossed.
Vista-like update? What do you mean?
I meant that Apple hasn't released an update that was worse then the last. Vista was brutal... A lot of people held onto XP. Windows 7 was a good update though...

I hear ya... That's why I did my MP first. I didn't want to update my MBA because I use VMWare (And will be using it at the ATR thing this Saturday). So far, haven't found a piece of software that isn't supported. Vmware worked properly.

It took almost 2 hours this morning, but when I finally did my MBA and my wife's MBP, it took less then 45 minutes to download.

It's running fine on my 08 MP, although the Nvidia 8800 GT is showing it's age. I might upgrade the video card plus get a Trackpad. Can't justify a new MP yet though.
It's running fine on the wife's 13" MBP and my 11" MBA. I have a slightly older (Last unibody with PCI Express slot) 15" MBP at work that I'll update tomorrow... That one will be a bitch, since it has a MASSIVE mail db..
Edit: You're able to install it on 5 computers legally, plus virtualize it up to two times on each computer. Standard App Store rules apply.

Nice, cant wait to use it. Its been about 10 mins so far and its almost half way, so it should not take that long.
You can click on "Purchased" in the App Store and it will show you the current progress BTW.

Yeah I might copy the image at home and swap out my HD here on my MP at work to test it and see where I am at. At least it will give me an idea where I stand.
+1 on the multiple copies. They are definitely making it better this time around for ownership.

I don't plan on updating until I have to... I was looking at speed comparison between the two and lion's actually slower. Main reason though is that it's looking too much like the iPhone/iPad and I'm really getting sick of the icon grids, I love my MBP and wouldn't go back to PC but I prefer the look and customization of Android now a days.

Doing the Time Machine with the current OS then time to download and install. For those interested, you can make a Boot Disk from the download:

The trackpad operates like an iPad now (flick a page upwards to scroll down), makes sense just takes a few tries to adjust and then you'll wonder why it has been the other way for so long

It just feels unnatural with a mouse wheel.

I did the update to Lion and so far so good. I only have two issues....first is that for some reason iTunes can't install the 10.4 update and secondly, Apple made a change to something that now prevents my Seagate GoFlex Home from working with Time Machine (apparantly this is the case with all third party Time Machine "compatible" NAS setups.

If any one else is having issues updating iTunes after the OS upgrade I found a solution on the Apple forums. As stupid as it sounds (but it works), create a new temporary admin user account and update it from there. It will update iTunes for all users and then you can delete this temp account.
