Hey folks, been lurking here for awhile now as I've been doing research on several cars, ended up really liking the Mazda 3 and so took the plunge a few weeks ago.

Ended up buying a fully loaded 2007 Mazda 3 GT from GTA Fine Cars (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?50704-GTA-FINE-CARS-Inc.-a.k.a-INEEDAMAZDA.ca) out of Toronto. Great buying experience, the car had 69k kms and was in good condition minus some bodywork that they fixed and some bad tires that I replaced. Pretty happy about the buy, it's replacing a 2000 Cavalier Z24 so it's just a littttttle bit of an upgrade :D

Have a few pics on PhotoBucket:

Things I've done so far:

Body work (seller), brakes (seller), dash GPS (seller), tires (me)
Tinted 35% all-around (need to keep it legal where I work)
Gave her some love on the inside :) Lexol'd the leather

Things I'm looking to do:

Getting the trip computer/time to show on dash after GPS upgrade again
Figuring out a maintenance schedule for the car
Thinking of a spoiler (nothing ridiculous)
Painting the calipers red
Figuring out the color code of the car (sticker is missing)
Rust check, the yearly one or the long term one? hmm...
We'll start from there :)

Car has a bit of rust on the driver door sill, going to have to clean that out. Needs a good outside detailing as well, when I get the time. I've already been lurking around the forum looking for some answers and ideas to my above todo list, really just getting started.

Congrats on your purchase.

A few things rust is covered under warranty through Mazda.

I assuming you replaced your tires cause they had uneven wear and they were noisy? Well regardless if you take your car for an aliment or not it will happen again.

Also what kinda body work was needed?

Thanks aris!

I thought that rust only included perforations, this stuff is pretty minor and only along the driver door sill and bottom of driver door. Will have to look into that in more detail.

Body work was a mix; the minor stuff was scratches and scuffs. Medium stuff was pitting damage on the hood from what looked like flying debris. The biggest thing was a large dent/damage in the front drivers side pillar, that one looked tricky but they were able to pop it out and paint all the other damage and even in full sunlight I can't tell where it was anymore.

Tires were in awful condition, ragged winter tires and one was ripped with a buldge. They offered to replace them with used all seasons or give me a cash credit, took the credit and just got new ones.

Close, RMC peninsula, you've obviously been to the area!

Thanks for the welcomes.

Welcome! Looks like Carbon Gray Mica (28B) or maybe Galaxy Gray Mica (32S). I'd take it to Kingston Mazda for your first oil change at least and have them look it over too. And confirm the colour code too!! Oil changes every 5000km, one of the best mechanics/shops in the area is Williams Garage near Amerstview. Out of the way if you're downtown but the very best!! For the money, you'd prob be happier getting an SRI or CAI rather than the spoiler, just my opinion. See you round town!!
