View Full Version : Which springs to use on a: 225/45/18 tire

I went with 225/45/18 instead of a 225/40/18 tire. I'm worried that the 225/40 tires would have been too thin for the road construction where I live.

The question now is how low to go with these tires.

I've looked at:

-Road Magnet
-Canuck
-Racing Beat
-H&R
-Eibach
-Tein

I've seen drops ranging from 1.25 to 2.0 but this is where I'm not sure to go with and was wondering if anyone on this board had any suggestions.

My goal is to maintain a good ride and minimize "some" gap. Right now, I'm thinking about the Road Magnet 1.25 drop. I'm just wondering if that will even make a noticable difference. Thanks in advance for any help and feedback.

Here's what I'm working with.

I've been on Eibach's for 16 months, no complaints. Great drop and really great ride

for what your looking for, 1.25 drop will be noticeable but also comfortable. im on eibach pro-kits, only 1.1 drop, wish i had gone a little lower, but i dont mind it.plus ride is great.

You will be fine with a drop 1" or so drop with the 45 sidewall. I have heard good things about the Road Magnet 1.25 and personally I have Eibach Prokit 2010 version springs which are great.

road magnet are the best!!! I switched from prokits because they are too soft for my taste

pro-kits will serve u good.. if ur looking for a minimal drop.. but 225-45-18 isnt the right size IIRC.. i run 225-45-17

I'm on 04-09 Prokits for my 2010 and everything's great. Plus it gives a nice 1.8f, 1.4r drop, though you may rub with 225/45/18 rubber on 04-09s.

Ya nice wheel choice. Prokits would be comfortable for you, road magnets if you ever want a bit more performance.

I appreciate the compliments and all the feedback everyone :) I lucked out on the wheel color and design...

I've received more feedback on this forum than any other one and I value all of them so thank again :) It's helping me make my decision easier!

Much respect,
Mark
