At Standard Auto Wreckers on Aug 6, 7
Anyone went in May and June, just wondering how were the pickings, I'd probably go Aug 6 to cannibalize some Mazdas, lol...
U pay $50 per person and remove all the parts that you can carry (take tools and a burlap bag) - I have heard of pple hauling off engines and tranny, lol...
See here for other free days remaining ;)

The whole U-pick yard is a open game. Catch is, it's all you can carry WITH YOUR HANDS. No bags or carts aloud. So unless you can bench 1000lbs, you're not carrying out a motor. That being said, you can bring as many people you want (for $50/person) and carry out a motor (if you can haul it out of the car). Also, no power tools aloud.
I've gone in the past and grabbed turbos, seats, etc.

On the designated "Free Parts Day" weekends, customers have access to the entire self-serve part of the yard with their $49.95 admission fee. With up to 3,000 cars to choose from, up to 1998 models, YOU CAN'T LOSE! If you don't find the parts you are looking for, or if the value of the parts is less than $49.95, we will give you an in-store credit for the difference towards a future purchase or entrance fee for another "Free Parts Day".

Yeah, Standard doesn't have anything newer than like 2000. Don't waste your time (or money).

Not true
The U-Pick yard is usually for 10 year or older cars. Which means 02 and older.
However, Standard gets a lot of new model cars that are kept away from the yard. A lot of their business is shipping out to independent garages that need parts for customers that don't want to pay brand new from a dealer.
There's actually a few Mazda3's in their lot

Every time I go, or call, they never have any Mazda3 parts or cars.
And if you know how my car has been, you'll know that's quite often lol
^ You have to wait for the next Free Parts Day which is September 10 & 11.
